Newark, DE: Automated label matrix removal systems from trim and waste
handling system manufacturer Precision AirConvey (PAC), Newark, Del.
(www.PrecisionAirConvey.com) enable label converters to save thousands of
dollars in raw material costs per day by reducing the width of their label
stock. By automatically removing the label matrix waste from the press, the
PAC systems eliminate both the need to rewind the waste rolls and the full
inch of extra material width typically required to accommodate the
rewinding equipment. In a high volume operation, the PAC systems may save
upwards of $500,000.00 annually in raw material costs alone. "The savings
in raw material paid for my entire system in just over a year," says Bob
Hakman, president of Diversified Labeling Solutions, the Itasca,
Illinois-based converter specializing in pressure sensitive labels.
The PAC system automatically captures label matrix at the press (or
presses), cuts it into manageable, little pieces and conveys it to a
compactor or baler while removing airborne dust particles. The PAC system
features the company's proprietary non-stick coating to nullify the
stickiness of the adhesive and ensure the matrix moves smoothly without
sticking to the ductwork. Optional equipment including sound attenuation
and static control devices is available.
