PRECISION AIRCONVEY TO UNVEIL NEW ROLL SPLITTER AT CMM BOOTH #1031

New Machine Automatically Removes Film From Cardboard Rolls

Attendees Can See Their Own Film Removed

Newark, DE: A new roll splitting machine from trim, waste and scrap solution provider Precision AirConvey, Newark, Del., automatically removes defective and/or out-of-spec material from the cardboard core. To be unveiled at the Converting Machinery/Materials Conference & Expo (CMM) Booth #1031 on April 18, 2005 in Chicago, Illinois, the PAC Model 30 Roll Splitter features an advanced design that cleanly slices through stretch film, foil, paper and other materials in seconds without any contact with the cardboard core. A lower cost alternative to the company’s larger Model 72 Roll Splitter, the PAC Model 30 Roll Splitter ensures both the waste material and the core are contaminant-free and ready for reclamation and/or reuse.

The PAC Model 30 Roll Splitter is engineered with a people-first, OSHA-approved safety system encompassing a two-hand operated control panel; an electrically interlocked safety surround enclosure; full guarding around the knife; an electrical interlock on the mandrel locking device and a viewing window to oversee operations from a safe distance, among other safeguards. A dramatic upgrade in personnel safety, the PAC Model 30 Roll Splitter makes the manual, razor knife-based method workers commonly use to remove waste material from the roll both obsolete and a hazardous drain on productivity.

The PAC Model 30 Roll Splitter accommodates roll sizes up to 30 inches in length. The company offers larger sizes up to and exceeding 72 inches. Attendees are invited to bring their rejected roll samples to the PAC booth for a live demonstration or the rolls may be shipped to PAC in advance of the show.
